From the Treasurer

At St Peter’s our expenses are typically of the order of €9000 per month. This includes the Chaplain's stipend and related costs, building maintenance, administration, our quota which is due to the diocese, and, importantly, donations to external missions and charities. This figure does not include the mortgage on the Church Centre which is handled in a separate account.

The latest income projection implies a deficit this year which could be as high as €12000. A big contributory factor to this is that we said goodbye to a significant number of long-standing church members this summer.

Many members of St Peter’s pledged to support the church by a regular financial commitment in 2002 and this has been an enormous help in the management and stewardship of our money. However we still have to close the gap between expenditure and income.

The biblical model of giving is one of proportionality. In addition we read of occasions when God’s people made additional gifts to support His work. The beginning of a new year is a time to make new resolutions and prepare new projects. With this in mind, we are asking church members if they would like to give a special present to St Peter’s.

If you have any questions on the financial workings of the church please do not hesitate to contact the treasurer, Caroline Smith, on 03 44 58 99 06.
